Featured Wedding – Rachel + Jason at the Now Sapphire Resort, Mayan Riviera

Wedding date:  Wednesday, April 4, 2012.

Resort: Now Sapphire Riviera Cancun.

Ceremony Time: 4:00 pm.

Ceremony location: Beach.

Cocktail hour – and location: Tequila Terrace

Reception location: Tequila Terrace

Ceremony Type: Symbolic. This kept things easy. There are rules and blood-tests that apply with legal ceremonies and we wanted to avoid that.

Honeymoon dates and locations: July 8-15, 2012. New York City!

Wedding colors: Lime Green and Turquoise Blue

Wedding Dress and Attire:

Bride: Ella Gown, Style # 5519
Groom: Perry Ellis White Linen Suit, Lime Green Shirt, White Tie.
Bridesmaids: Lime Green Cocktail Dress
Groomsmen: Khaki Pants, White Shirt, Lime Green Tie.

Wedding Photographer and Feedback: Adventure Photos.  He was a young, attractive, curly haired guy. We love our photos and feel he did a great job! We upgraded to full day coverage and do not regret it!

Wedding Flowers and Decor: We used the flowers from the resort (Calla Lillie’s), and we used their linens. Turquoise chair bows and lime green table overlays. I brought the favours, seating cards, and wedding programs with me.

Outside vendor that you hired: DJ MANNIA – Amazing service and we highly recommend! They used the song lists we sent them! Thanks for the recommendation, Tanja!

Wedding Favours/Guest gifts: Flip Flop Luggage Tags (also acted as seating cards) and lime green hand-painted maracas.

Why did you pick this location and hotel/resort for your wedding? I loved the photos and fell in love with it immediately. It was also close to the airport, had five star rating, and was not right on the Cancun strip. Upon getting quotes from Tanja, it was in budget too!

Why a destination wedding? Jason is from BC, I’m from Ontario, and we live in Calgary. It just made sense for all family to travel to one neutral sunny location!

Best moment of the wedding? THE ENTIRE THING! Although I did fall backwards at the alter, and a bee swarmed my bouquet – funny! We had all the guests shoot tequila after the ceremony was complete – Priceless!

Group Activities? We went to Coco Bongo’s in Playa Del Carmen  – neat place!

Feedback of the Resort: The resort was wonderful! We’d go again. Room cleaning was inconsistent, but we had to ask for the mini fridge to be restocked. It was safe, clean, calm, and wonderful otherwise. The food was great, and the service was almost always amazing!

Testimonial of my services: Tanja was wonderful from start to finish. She got us AMAZING quotes promptly, and was honest about what to expect from different resorts. We faced a little bump in the road when one of our flights was unexpectedly changed, but upon contacting Tanja, she did everything in her power to rectify the situation! She and Sunquest worked hard to keep my family and friends happy! I’ve since referred my sister-in-law to be to Tanja as a thank you, and she is now booking her wedding vacation through Tanja as well! That’s just how marvelous Tanja is!
